Does PoloPonies charge commission or listing fees?
No. Listing a pony is free and PoloPonies takes no commission from either side. The sale itself — price, trial, vetting, payment — is agreed directly between buyer and seller; we never sit in the middle of the money.
How do I contact a seller?
Create a free account, then use the WhatsApp or reveal-number buttons on any listing. Contact details are shown only to signed-in users — that is what keeps sellers' numbers out of the hands of bots and scrapers.
What does “verified seller” mean?
Every phone number a buyer sees has been confirmed by a one-time SMS code before it is ever revealed — and if a seller changes their number, it must be verified again. Sellers can also publish a profile page carrying their listings and reviews from buyers.
How do I sell my polo pony on PoloPonies?

How much does a polo pony cost?
Most playing ponies in the UK change hands between £8,000 and £20,000 — a steady club schoolmaster from around £8,000, a made low goal pony in her prime £14,000–£20,000, proven medium goal ponies £25,000 and up. Budget £6,000–£12,500 a year to keep one. The full breakdown is in our price guide.
Should I get a vetting before buying?
Yes — on a playing pony a five-stage pre-purchase vetting is the cheapest line in the whole budget, and the only independent evidence that her body can do the job you are buying it for. We explain what a polo vetting involves and what it costs in the Journal.
Can I save ponies I’m interested in?
Yes. Signed in, you can add any pony to your shortlist from its listing and come back to the whole list from your account — useful when you are comparing several animals across counties before arranging trials.
How do seller reviews work?
Signed-in buyers can leave a rating and written review on a seller's profile — one per seller, editable, never anonymous to moderation. Sellers can reply publicly, and every review is subject to moderation, so the record stays honest in both directions.
Is PoloPonies a dealer or an agency?
No. PoloPonies is an independent listings marketplace: we never own, broker or price the ponies, and we take no side in the sale. If something on the site needs a human, email hello@poloponies.co.uk.
